Venu préparer le rallye de Croatie, Craig Breen repart avec un beau succès à SanRemo. En bagarre pour la victoire dès le premier chrono hier, l’Irlandais a réalisé une excellente prestation aujourd’hui lui permettant de battre les Italiens chez eux. Le pilote Hyundai abordera le rendez-vous Croate avec une confiance maximale au volant cette fois de la WRC.
Le week-end a été faste pour le constructeur coréen puisqu’avec la seconde place d’Andrea Crugnola, Hyundai place deux i20 aux deux premières places ! Un temps en tête, Fabio Andolfi doit se contenter de la 3ème place mais avec une Fabia ancienne génération, le pilote Italien peut être satisfait de sa prestation. Leader du Championnat Italien, Stefano Albertini arrache la 4ème position face à Giandomenico Basso, grand perdant du jour avec sa crevaison, consécutive d’une touchette.
Premier Français, Stéphane Lefebvre remonte au 7ème rang après un dernier chrono très convaincant. En manque de roulage avec la C3 Rally 2, l’ancien pilote officiel Citroën montre qu’il reste un des meilleurs tricolores du moment. Pas de chance pour Quentin Gilbert, victime de problème de pression d’essence et qui perd à nouveau plus d’une minute dans ce dernier chrono. Enfin, Paul-Antoine Santoni rentre dans le top 15, le Corse étant pour l’occasion copiloté par Nicolas Gilsoul.
