Le Champion du Monde des Rallyes 1994 Didier Auriol était l’invité d’honneur du Rally Ronde Internazionale del Ticino 2021 en compagnie de Denis Giraudet. Après un quatrième temps dans l’ES1, Didier Auriol perd plus de huit minutes dans sa seconde spéciale et plonge à la 43 ème place au général. Deux spéciales pour remonter et terminer 28 ème alors que dans le même temps c’est Sébastien Carron qui s’impose devant Ivan Ballinari et Mike Coppens.
Peu importe le résultat final, l’essentiel fut de revoir le premier Champion du Monde Français revenir sur les spéciales dans une WRC, dommage que cette initiative fut faite hors des frontières Françaises car une participation sur une épreuve nationale attirerait les foules c’est une certitude.
